Dearest Precious Thinkers!

Let me start this post by saying: May God forgive us for every time we have procrastinated in working on an idea that has been inspired by the Holy Spirit. Amen. There were times when I got into a state of uneasiness when I had a post brewing in my mind and I had not put it up and then I get to see something similar somewhere else. But I am grateful that in the journey of blogging I’ve come to realise that This thing I do is no competition. All thanks to the Holy Spirit. The Spirit is one. Ephesians 4:6. So when that feeling of uneasiness tries to raise its ugly head, I tell it to flee, This is just a confirmation! Also, most times, when I have not put the post up, there are other experiences of affirmation that take place, that is indeed necessary in the construction of such post. So in other words, whichever way it goes, it works together for good. But I have to stress that,  this isn’t an allowance for sheer laziness, disobedience and procrastination.

So why such an introduction?

Today’s post has been a long one coming, but a lot of things got in the way that humanly thinking I felt I should have put this post up before now, but the past few days have made me realise that this timing is perfect. You see nothing that happens to us takes God by surprise….*pinches self* …*don’t digress Chinomnso, stick to today’s post*

Back to today’s title…

Love has many audience. Whichever way a person chooses to view love, they are either saying Love exists or No! There is no such thing called love. My point is the word ‘Love’ still gets attention. So if love is a natural and divine phenomenon [1 John 4:8] that gets attention, why should ‘falling in love/being in love’ not get even more attention?

I remember listening to Jesushouse radio sometime ago, and Pastor Agu Irukwu was preaching. Even though I missed the beginning section of the sermon, I do vividly recall that he was talking about the behaviour of a lovestruck.  How he/she wants everyone to know about this new-found love; and if it so happens that the ‘lovestruck’ is not being listened to by person A, he/she will look for person B, C or D, until someone can assuage his/her desire to share this thing of joy. But you see when I was listening to the sermon, I started thinking about what he said; ‘Is that really what I do?’… Forgetting that, whether that is what I do or not, is not the crux of the matter. The main point is we need to fall in love with Jesus daily.

An intense falling in love with Jesus is needed. You see Mark 16: 15 and Matthew 28:18-19 commands us to go everywhere and announce the message of GOD’S GOOD NEWS to one and all…The truth is when someone has done something wonderful to us, we are not hesitant in making sure that the next person hears of such wonderful gesture, so why does it get hard for us to share the good news?

I have heard statements like ‘Oh my character/my showing of love is my way of preaching’. Don’t get me wrong, even the bible says we should live in such a way that you are a credit to the Message of Christ. Let nothing in your conduct hang on whether I come or not.Your conduct must be the same whether I show up to see things for myself or hear of it from a distance…This was Paul speaking in Philippians 1:27. But the thing is, we cannot do one and leave out the other. Just the same way, buying gifts and taking our beloved ones out and never verbally expressing our love to them, is not good enough; the same goes when it comes to sharing the good news.

And then I remember that being like Jesus should be every true christian goal. The Bible never recorded that Jesus did only good works. He did good works and also preached about the wonders of His father.

Wisdom and being led by the Holy Spirit is very key when it comes to evangelism. We have to be sensitive to how the Holy Spirit chooses to use us when sharing the good news. It could be that the way he wants to use you could be by just giving to someone in need, and it could be that He requires that this man/woman/girl/boy need to hear ‘God loves them’. It could even be by sharing your testimony of how God has helped you through the years. There are different strategies that the Holy Spirit will lay in our hearts, but He will not force us to use them. But if we claim we love God, we are to share the love.

Personally, I have not been doing so great when it comes to evangelism, because there are different opportunities that come up; but I guess I have gotten so wrapped up in pursuing the dream that I am now relaxed in telling the good deeds of the dream giver. Sometimes, I tell myself that, ‘maybe I’m just too shy’ but then I remember that Acts 4:31 ‘While they were praying, the place where they were meeting trembled and shook. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak God’s Word with fearless confidence’. The Holy Spirit gives boldness [fearless confidence] and all we have to do is avail ourselves to be used.

The sharing of the good news should be on the hearts of every true christian. What we have is THE GOOD NEWS, let’s tell everyone about our love for Him that stems from the love He has shown us. The second coming of our Lord Jesus draws near, Matthew 24:14 and Mark 13:10 makes us understand that the message has to be preached all across the world, and then the end will come.

And need we remember that A good life is a fruit-bearing tree; a violent life destroys souls also the KJV puts it this way-The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. Proverbs 11:30

I pray that the Holy Spirit will release upon us the unction of boldness to share the good news; that the Lord feels our heart with compassion for souls that are not aware of Him and that we will also be sensitive to the leading of the Spirit on how He will have us ‘preach’ the Gospel. Amen!

Lord, help us to fall in love with you daily. Amen!

God loves you.

  2. I am in love with Jesus…

He proved His love to me and wouldn’t let go
    and when I was unlovable
He nursed me and filled me with His glory
caused His glory to shine out of me

…the foolish things of the world confounding the wise.

I was the last person society expected God to touch or use

Never the less I ministered to a young man last Sunday after church
I will call him before Sunday to remind him to come to church on Sunday
and of course I will be praying for Him (I believe people prayed for me)
