INSPIRING BAY: Plow your anger…..

Surprise!Surprise!! [the name of a reality show] where a husband  surprised his wife with the help of friends and the reality show’s team.  The surprises were: a time away on holiday, her friends appreciated her on the show and sang her favourite song. They chose to surprise their friend and [his]wife because she formed a Military Wives choir, which consisted of women whose husbands are in the military just like her. The aim for the initiation of the choir was for wives to be BUSY while their husbands were away fighting. Yeah, a brilliant idea indeed!

The ASUU strike in Nigeria has been on for 5 months now, it is an excruciatingly frustrating period for students, being away from ‘uni’ and not being aware of when we’ll be back because this is not summer break and doesn’t look like it. I’m of the opinion that whatever reasons that are behind this action are not justifiable because the students are the ‘pounded yam in the mortar'[you may choose to disagree with me]. While we pray, hope and wait for a change to take effect, what do we do? We get BUSY. Busy doing anything?NO, not just anything, something enhancing to you and your community/society at large. Our talents and gifts are not given to us in the Universities that we attend, it’s God-given; we have them already, let us discover it, nurture it and make good use of it. WE are very extraordinarily talented, let’s get busy doing something worthwhile. Be it singing?or writing?teaching the kids around us?assisting our parents at their place(s) of work?acquiring some cooking/makeup/fashion designing skills?enrolling in an acting academy?…The list is endless. Or maybe you might not be affected by the strike, it could be that you are searching for a job, getting busy, doing something ‘productive and positive’ is still an ideal venture to consider. There is this popular saying: “Nature abhors vacuum”, this is very true. If we do not consciously fill the vacuum, some other ‘scheme’ will do the honours.

P.S Inspire us with whatever activities you have engaged in, to keep yourself busy during this time of strike, and please share the challenges you may have faced also. We love your comments, especially me!!!!

Let us plow our anger into something positive..

Time to say it!!

Oh Well! the weekend has done its job [gone speedily as usual] *sighs*. Hope you had a great weekend? and you are having great expectations for the week…..So I think it’s time we know what ‘Precious Thoughts’ mission statement is. This is it:

To encourage, motivate and empower everyone to be an instrument of positive change.

HOW do we achieve this: there will be different segments to the blog, which will comprise of-motivational/inspiring notes, life enrichment [sharing the word of God], Politics and critical interaction…these are the segments for now. As expected, with time, changes are going to take place in the form of ‘addition’.
Also please I urge you to leave your comments below-questions, suggestions and feedback on your general opinion about the blog[all opinions will be appreciated]

Have a lovely monday and week ahead.

P.S a new post coming…..5,4,3,2,1..

Can’t let this day go without…….

Hello!!!! How are you doing today? I hope you’all are having a good weekend….Let’s get excited for the new week, I’ve got so many exciting stuffs coming up this coming week…So watch this space________Enjoy your day!

Can’t let this day go without a shout out to YOU!

P.S As for the Tottenham fans, STAND because ‘tomorrow’ is another day to win.

Even when ‘beaten’…..

Earlier this week/late last week, the news broke out about Rob Ford, the Mayor of Toronto, that he had used crack cocaine, and he had admitted to the allegations as well. This week, his council stripped him of most of his powers, transferred the powers to his deputy. Wait! this is the most interesting part, Rob Ford gave a speech, where he apologised and stated that he was not going to step down as being the Mayor of Toronto, that he loves his job……Wow! When I watched him make that speech I was amazed […this man has(more than) guts….]. I am not deliberating on the substance abuse part of the story, it’s the ‘standing his ground’ part I choose to dwell on. You’ll expect that for a Mayor to have committed such an act, he should be ready to give up his seat and powers; [I can hear some people say “a whole mayor” “nawa o”] but he has chosen to do what he loves despite his flaws, the reaction of his council and the public as well; because I’m pretty convinced that there are people out there who are disappointed and do not think he is fit to be the Mayor, but he still chooses to STAND….I do not know how his political career is going to turn out in the future, but one thing I know is that: even in the midst of all these challenges, he fought [and is still fighting]….I have no idea whatever it may be that you may struggling with, be motivated to fight and move on.

Whatever happens let it be that you made an effort to STAND….I can only hope that everything turns out well for Mayor Rob Ford in the end! As for you: Be strong! There’s so much treasure in you, that your flaws cannot tarnish….

                                                      Even  when beaten, still stand!

YOUnique!

Let’s meet you…Do you know that inasmuch as you may find someone who has the same name as you, he/she does not answer to it, the same way you do? Do you know that the way you brush your teeth is different from how I brush mine? Have you ever considered the fact that the way you do your ‘shakara’ is different from how your friends/siblings do theirs, even if you may have similar strategies…These and many other details to you makes you, YOUnique. You are different for a reason, enjoy being different. If the only meat we had in the world was chicken, I’m sure there are tons of people who will get fed up of eating meat. So today, rise above the negativity attached to your ‘being different’; that is what makes you significantly YOUnique..

Have a lovely weekend! and remember, “with our thoughts, we make the world”-Siddhartha Gautama
