Hello PT!

Here is Part 1

I have a confession: I really struggled to put up the last post, for so many reasons, but I will mention a few. I felt all over the place with my words, I kept telling myself: ‘I hope these words make sense’. Then, I was thinking; Is this post even necessary?

But, I put up the post, anyway. I am learning how to shut my raging emotions, especially when it’s not time to be logical- when it’s time to be obedient to God. So, cheers to shutting our thoughts/emotions up, and subjecting them to obeying the instructions of God.

We considered some factors that could prevent us from hearing from God, in the course of pondering on this ‘series’, I remembered another one… Continue reading

TRIP TO HAITI: The Lessons and Blessings!

IMG_1508Bonjour A tous!

Comment ca va? That’s my attempt to continue from where I stopped in Haiti. Yes, I am back and ready to share the whole journey with you. So get a cold drink as you read on, as this post will definitely be an interesting and long(er) read; with lots of pictures.

It was a normal night as usual on March 10, the difference was that, I had a dream where I was speaking to someone who was ‘invisible’, in an elated tone, I screamed: ‘I am going to Haiti’. I woke up the next morning [March 11, Wednesday] laughing at myself. I didn’t even tell my family about the dream. To me, that was a ‘misplaced’ dream. Then evening came, and it was time for bible study in church, and my assistant pastor of my church had requested to see my brother and myself as we had opted to volunteer for after school program for children in the neighborhood. After the discussion, he points at me and says: ‘Princess, you’ll be going to Haiti, this year, right?’ Emmm hello Pastor, have you been in my dreams? That was my initial silent thought. I was dumbfounded for about five seconds and finally spoke. I told him about my dream, took the form, filled it and the rest is what you’ll know as you read.

Dear You,

An attempt to just whisk into the main purpose of today’s post without inquiring as to how you are doing, will be a sheer display of rudeness and pretense. How are you doing? How’s your relationship with Jesus going? Did you enjoy the Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao fight hype? Like me, did you just get to know about Manny because of the last fight? *Covers face* You cannot blame a sister, I know more about football than wrestling or boxing. I don’t know how people are able to watch those muscular men beat themselves up. I just can’t.

I really want to know how you are doing though.

Today’s post won’t be a lengthy one [I hope]; it’s not going to resonate with everyone either. But for those that the Lord has laid this on my heart to deliver to, be encouraged. You are not alone.

Matthew 5 v 14-16 says

You’re here to be a light, bringing out the God, colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you in a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand- shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven. [MSG]

The above scripture is one that really speaks to me at every given second and minute, I read it. It reminds us of who we are in a decaying world- LIGHTS & SALTS! But you see, we are not just lights when we celebrate victories, we are to be lights, when we are going through the trials and tests. In fact, I believe we get to see who is really standing as the light of God, when the tests come. Continue reading

HELP! I Can’t Let Go……

When I asked for help…

Or Rhema from my hair change!

I didn’t want to discourage the brothers from reading this post, so I chose a better ‘accommodating’ title, as stated above.

When I was leaving the UK, it was hard carrying all my belongings that I had acquired throughout my stay. The baggage allowance of the flight was limited. So I had to give some things away to charity and friends. But there were two sets of hair moisturizing conditioners, which I vehemently refused to leave behind. They were 1 liter each. The truth is, there was no space for these conditioners, but I was not having it; they had to come with me. I loved this conditioner because it had this stingy, menthol like feeling when I applied it to my head; and I love that feeling. Continue reading

I am delighted to inform you that we are still on the series. This is post two of the series. I am not certain as to how many posts that will be made of this series, but as soon as I am sure, I will relay that information to you.

So you have not read the first post on the Books of Samuel Series? You can catch up here….

2 Samuel 18 & 23 will be discussed today. I hope and strongly believe that you won’t just be accepting my points as it, but will be reading your Bible; as you remember that my blog posts are not The Word. They are supplements.

These two chapters are intertwined, because chapter 18 gives an in-depth understanding of chapter 23’s outcome. So permit me to do a reverse swing, and start-up with chapter 23. Continue reading
