Hello! Hello!

Is it too early to be putting up this post, you may ask just like a part of me, is doing the same? Well, it’s never too early to take stock of events, to reflect on what is working, worked and did not work well; and put things in place to improve on the ‘thumbs down’.

I mentioned in a previous post that I will be putting up today’s post, I am glad that this day has finally come. If I am to describe this year in a few words, the best encapsulating word is Growth.

This year has been one of necessary growth; visible and invisible. Growth coated with pain and laughter; and with purpose.

The purpose of this post is to engage every reader and stir up a reflective attitude, to actively seek to do better and work towards doing so. Continue reading

Dearest PT!

The last time I wrote a letter to you, I was addressing the fact that waiting/resting is not passivity. And that was in June, we are in September, and I think it is high time you read from me. Or honestly put; ‘I have too many thoughts to put under one heading/subject, so how about I just write a letter?’ Yup! Since, I have not had a ‘wisdom nuggets’ post up in a while, this will make up for the gap. [I hope]

When my birthday draws closer, I become exceptionally reflective. I like to think that I reflect a lot [like everyday]; but it’s double the measure during the month of September to October. So I have been doing a lot of reflection lately, and I want to share some in this letter. This reflection cuts across my growth and what needs improvement. I hope they resonate with you….. WHEN I GOT THIS WRONG: Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit

Yes, you are right!

We are starting a new segment on the blog today. I am certain this will be one segment that will help us appreciate how far we have come in our relationship with Christ, more like, an evaluation of our journey with the Holy Spirit, as He gives us understanding of the Word of God.

Also, this segment is open to all- Precious Thoughts’ readers can send in their ‘When I got this wrong’ stories to preciousthoughts2013@gmail.com. The aim of this segment is to help give accurate Godly understanding to certain biblical values and truth that we practice. It is not just okay to say ‘Don’t steal’; can we explain to a non-believer why we understand that stealing is a sin? Can we carry out the will of God knowing His mind or do we just do it nevertheless because it is in the bible?

This segment is aimed at propelling us to take the next step- understand the mind of God. If we cannot understand God, we cannot accurately represent Him and draw men to Him. I pray for continuous flow of insight from Christ, upon everyone that will be a part of this- both the readers and contributors. Amen.

Starting off today’s premiere of the new segment is when I got the meaning of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit wrong and the devil had a field day, as usual. I hope you laugh [maybe] and learn as you read this. Continue reading

Dear You,

An attempt to just whisk into the main purpose of today’s post without inquiring as to how you are doing, will be a sheer display of rudeness and pretense. How are you doing? How’s your relationship with Jesus going? Did you enjoy the Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao fight hype? Like me, did you just get to know about Manny because of the last fight? *Covers face* You cannot blame a sister, I know more about football than wrestling or boxing. I don’t know how people are able to watch those muscular men beat themselves up. I just can’t.

I really want to know how you are doing though.

Today’s post won’t be a lengthy one [I hope]; it’s not going to resonate with everyone either. But for those that the Lord has laid this on my heart to deliver to, be encouraged. You are not alone.

Matthew 5 v 14-16 says

You’re here to be a light, bringing out the God, colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you in a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand- shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven. [MSG]

The above scripture is one that really speaks to me at every given second and minute, I read it. It reminds us of who we are in a decaying world- LIGHTS & SALTS! But you see, we are not just lights when we celebrate victories, we are to be lights, when we are going through the trials and tests. In fact, I believe we get to see who is really standing as the light of God, when the tests come. Continue reading

Unfinished Business…

image (2) Hello!

*Covers Face* You didn’t think I was quitting blogging, did you? I knew my January was going to be quite busy, but I did not see it taking a long three weeks though. But I am back and I will explain… However, you did not look for me, *sobs* Is this life? I thought we are family. You’ve got my back and I’ve got yours. Or you just assumed, she will come back and tell us what happened? Well! you are right. I will tell you. But, you need to tell me why you didn’t look for me too.

I do not know if you still remember but immediately I submitted my dissertation for my Masters programme, I left for Canada as my graduation was not taking place till January 2015. So I always knew I had an unfinished business with England, UK…

I was off blogging unintentionally because of work (it got mega busy), preparation for my trip to England, my trip to London for my graduation, my laptop finally got spoilt beyond repair, serious jet lag (I never knew how that felt until few days ago, and it was horrible) and flu paid a visit as well. But I am determined to put on the garment of consistency, henceforth, so help me God. Amen!

Back to my unfinished business…. Continue reading
