VALLEY EXPERIENCE: Feeling Like Joseph?

Dear You,

An attempt to just whisk into the main purpose of today’s post without inquiring as to how you are doing, will be a sheer display of rudeness and pretense. How are you doing? How’s your relationship with Jesus going? Did you enjoy the Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao fight hype? Like me, did you just get to know about Manny because of the last fight? *Covers face* You cannot blame a sister, I know more about football than wrestling or boxing. I don’t know how people are able to watch those muscular men beat themselves up. I just can’t.

I really want to know how you are doing though.

Today’s post won’t be a lengthy one [I hope]; it’s not going to resonate with everyone either. But for those that the Lord has laid this on my heart to deliver to, be encouraged. You are not alone.

Matthew 5 v 14-16 says

You’re here to be a light, bringing out the God, colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you in a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand- shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven. [MSG]

The above scripture is one that really speaks to me at every given second and minute, I read it. It reminds us of who we are in a decaying world- LIGHTS & SALTS! But you see, we are not just lights when we celebrate victories, we are to be lights, when we are going through the trials and tests. In fact, I believe we get to see who is really standing as the light of God, when the tests come. Continue reading

I Cannot Mourn with Those That Mourn…

AKA I am a converted Christian but unbroken!

I hope your week has been nothing short of fantastic?

Remember in this post, I said; ‘In due time’, the part 2 of Help! I cannot rejoice with those that rejoice will be posted? Well! Today is that due time and rightly so.

Can I be honest with you? When I said: In due time, I said that because I knew that I needed a personal ministration/revelation of what it means to mourn with those that mourn. If I had published a post on this topic earlier than today, I would’ve been feeding you skeletons, no flesh. What I learnt from this is: Walk with the Spirit of God. Be honest with yourself and God. Wait on His timing, it is ALWAYS perfect.

You will be shocked to know that it is indeed more difficult to mourn with those that mourn, than to rejoice with those that rejoice. You may say: why is that? Continue reading

BOOKS OF SAMUEL SERIES: Close But Far Away…

Hello!

I am delighted to inform you that we are still on the series. This is post two of the series. I am not certain as to how many posts that will be made of this series, but as soon as I am sure, I will relay that information to you.

So you have not read the first post on the Books of Samuel Series? You can catch up here….

2 Samuel 18 & 23 will be discussed today. I hope and strongly believe that you won’t just be accepting my points as it, but will be reading your Bible; as you remember that my blog posts are not The Word. They are supplements.

These two chapters are intertwined, because chapter 18 gives an in-depth understanding of chapter 23’s outcome. So permit me to do a reverse swing, and start-up with chapter 23. Continue reading

Happy New Month, Beloved!

It’s quite surreal seeing how this year is jetting off. I hope it has been good so far. I also pray that this new month will be one where the glory of the Lord will seen in every area of our lives. AMEN!

I want to acknowledge my readers, those that have been here and those that are just joining the PT train. I appreciate you for being a part of this journey, I also appreciate your suggestions and questions. Thank you all for your comments, requests and everything. God bless you.

As usual, once the month ends and a new month begins, it’s our tradition to recap most of the lessons of the last month here. Just in case you are wondering why I run such a segment, here are my reasons:

  • I believe that every day that passes is an opportunity to grow, and growth occurs in a place of conscious observance of our daily life. Personally, I believe that as I request for the Holy Spirit to help me every day, I get to learn from the experiences that I go through on a daily basis and new revelations from my bible study.
  • I put them in one post because most times, one point is not lengthy enough to make a post. It only makes sense to put them in one.

HELP! I Can’t Rejoice With Those Who Rejoice…..

Source-Google! Source-Google!

The invisible rolling of eyes. The palpitating heartbeats. The compulsion to pretend like the good news were not seen. The search for loopholes to ensure that the good news are facades or don’t last for long. The silent ‘God when will it be my turn’ conversations….are some of the reactions that a person struggling to rejoice with another may exude.

How do I know? I’m a survivor of this bondage. Yes, folks! It’s a bondage. Let’s call it as it is.

Romans 12 vs 15a says…..

Rejoice with those who rejoice….[NIV]

Laugh with your happy friends when they’re happy….[MSG]

When others are happy, you should be happy with them…[ERV]

When we read Romans 12, we get the understanding of how a believer is supposed to relate with God and man. So when Paul was urging the Romans to rejoice with those who rejoice, he was just comprehensively expanding on the fruits of the commandment: Love thy neighbor as thyself. Rejoicing with those who rejoice comes from a place [heart] of true love. As an ex-non-rejoicer, [Pardon the impulsive coinage] I can boldly tell you that you have not known and experienced true love till you can rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn [part 2 coming soon].
