It’s about that time. Yippiee!! You know what time it is, don’t you? Giveaway time…. I get excited when I have the opportunity to give something back to my amazing readers. You’d think I’m the one receiving the gift with the way I jubilate.

Okay! Let me tell you a story…

Hands up, if you are a Bella Naija ‘student’. Lol. But really, Bella Naija can pass for an online school, if you ask me.You have the students, the very studious ones – they do their homework. Those that leave comments. Then, there are students like me, who just come to class to answer to our names, when the Class register is called; and sneak out when the teacher turns to the board to write something. I don’t know what you’ll call us [I know I’m not alone]; all I know is that, I’m a proud Bella Naija student. Continue reading

What has been your excuse II?

Okay! it will be awesome if you read ‘Part I’….

Before we go any further into Part II, let’s have a chit-chat. How are you doing? How has your week been? How’s the summer break going? And those of us that don’t get to have a summer break: how’s work? I do care about your wellbeing, you know! I do pray for all my readers, that all goes well with y’all. And I’m sure God hears.

The Part I of this post focused more on emotions. But part II is focusing on ‘Talents/gifts’.

I’m happy to say that I’ve not met anyone who has said to me: ‘Princess, you know I’ve no talent’. Well, my response would be- ‘Tufiakwa!! Isi gini??’ [Igbo for ‘God forbid! You said what?’]. Lol.

I believe it’s no news to say everyone has talents/gifts, it’s possible that a person who thinks otherwise hasn’t discovered his/hers yet. I think one of the factors killing people’s talent is the ‘I want yours’ syndrome.

You see, in this day and age where we have social media and the likes, everything is on showcase. You don’t know who will see your handwork and will be interested in working with you. But on the flip side, there are people who see the display of so-and-so’s talent as a reason to stay ‘underground’. Why? Because ‘I don’t have A’s talent, I don’t have anything then‘. First mistake!

There is nothing similar when it comes to your talent with that of person B. There is something unique about you that cannot be found in person B. Unfortunately, you cannot get to see all that through social media. I feel we have come to a path where we have taken our eyes off our portions and placed them on the portion of others, and in that same way, buried the one we have. Does that ring a bell? Matthew 25:14-30- the parable of the talents.

Please feel free to correct me, if I am wrong. But smiling should pass off as a talent [or is a talent], right? I mean, have Continue reading

Let’s talk: Appearance + Message vs Message -Appearance?!

Focus on the message and not the appearance. Yay? or Nay?

Focus on the message and not the appearance. Yay? or Nay?

Hello all,

I know it’s been like forever since I did a ‘Let’s talk’ post. Well!! sit back, relax, grap a pineapple juice [Yes! it has to be pineapple juice.Lol] and let’s talk…..

So the picture above was taken by me this past Saturday. I happened to hang out with a friend, and while taking a stroll around the area, there was a ‘campaign arena’. But, immediately I saw the bare-chested gentleman, I took a picture and said, ‘my readers need to say something’.

The young man was sharing the ‘Good news’. He was sharing Christ with passers by. Enthusiastically sharing, no joking. See his back up partners…..

Holy Liar- You say what?

You know we always say that if a baby does a ‘wee-wee’ in his/her pampers, it is the norm, it is expected of the baby. But if 15years down the line, that same child is still doing a ‘wee-wee’, then there is a problem!

The same is applicable even in every other sphere of our lives, there are certain types of ignorance that are pardonable for a particular time, but as time goes on, ignorance cannot be an excuse.

Okay, let me share a story. When I was in JSS1 [Junior high school], I was bitten by the ‘belong bug’. So my birthday is in October, but back then, there were two of my classmates that had the same birthday; it was just so ‘awesome’ to see two people share the same birthday [it was a fascinating feel for me then]. So do you know what this girl [me] did? I wanted to bask in the euphoria of that ‘feel’ and I said that I was born on the same day as the girls then. So here is the thing- my birthday always came before theirs, theirs was in November. So I never acknowledge my ‘real’ birthday; I waited almost 4weeks for the birthday of the girls. Yup! I’m sure you are wondering: ‘what of your parents?’ didn’t they ever celebrate you on your ‘real’ birthday? Well! I guess my secret was safe, as I went to a strict boarding school, and my younger brother was still in primary school at that time. No one could blow my cover. Lol

Transparency: Le Struggle?!

Aha! You see the thing is most times, the assumption that we are on the right track at all times is a feeling that delights the eyes and other sense organs, but it’s always good to know that the whole being isn’t sold out to that assumption. Good stuff, if you ask me!

I started blogging nine months ago. There was and still is a purpose I ventured into ‘Precious Thoughts’, but along the way; I lost sight of that purpose.

But hey! Goodnews- I’m getting back on track. But I’ve to say, it was a struggle admitting that something was out of place.

When I chose to start blogging, it was from the leading and desire to share my walk with Christ with everyone that gets to read a post on this blog. Truth is, I shared a part of my walk. Maybe there were days when I did it right, and days when I did it wrong. But now, God has whipped me. Yup! He didn’t whisk this whipped cream [me] with a whisking machine.  Nah!! Baba [God] went manual, with his hands. And I love it. It was necessary.

A gentle but necessary reminder?!

Hello all,

I prepared this article a few weeks ago for my Aunt. She needed help putting this together, as she was swamped with work and exams. And I humbly obliged. Putting this piece together, it felt like I was talking to myself. Infact, every post I put up on this blog is me talking to me before anyone else, and this post is not any different.

Be blessed!

Hello Ladies

I am saying ‘hello ladies’ not to shut the men out in anyway, but as expected this post is to particularly address the ladies. So, our men! Don’t feel left out, there’s still something to gain for your present girlfriend, fiancée, sister(s),cousin(s) and friends.

Ruth, Deborah, Esther, Abigail, Mary (mother of Jesus), Hannah. Yes! You can have that combination in one lady, and that is YOU. It would have been easy to find so many role models in the world to pick out attributes that we should possess, but I think it is even easier to stick to the ‘never ancient’ manual- the bible.

So my ladies, there are so many attributes that are necessary to possess if we are to be the salt of the earth and make any godly, positive impact in our world today. And the fact that you are reading this today, just goes to show that you will strive with the help of the holy spirit to be a ‘Ruth, Deborah, Esther, Abigail, Mary and Hannah’ of this generation; all in one.
