I woke up three mornings ago, and the first thought that popped up in my head was: I definitely did not prepare for this. In those split seconds of that thought, I was thinking of how it happened that the weather changed all of a sudden. Yes! It is colder now, but I am still struggling to get a full grasp of how the sun has suddenly taken the function of lighting rather than heat. No exaggerations! True fact.

While I had this thought, that morning, I have had this post budding within me for the past one week, but I have been so exhausted. A lot just seems to be happening, and time is not at a stand still either, so I have decided to do better with my blogging; manage my time rightly and take on less responsibilities.

Oh! And did I miss out this information: My birthday is this week, Wednesday, 7th October, precisely. I am so excited. I do not know why. I am just excited and thankful to God for growth. I am entering into a new year where I am just marveled at how God’s realness has changed my life, that I am just not worried about a thing. I am just full of gratitude. Please pray for me, I am very expectant for this new year, not just expectant for my desires, but expectant in doing purpose and being a vessel for His glory.

Okay, let’s delve into the post of the day… Continue reading

But Are You Ready?

Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight..

The above line, I have been pondering on, since I last sang the hymn on Sunday. It is no news that I don’t take words for granted. This post brought to light this fact. Apart from the tune, the main backbone of the existence of songs are words.

I have sung this hymn: It is well with my soul, so many times, but you will agree with me that there are times when words just penetrate the surface; it’s no longer the ‘default recitation’, the thought behind the lyrics is being pondered upon; and in those few moments, you are immersed into the spirit behind the song. Dearest PT!

The last time I wrote a letter to you, I was addressing the fact that waiting/resting is not passivity. And that was in June, we are in September, and I think it is high time you read from me. Or honestly put; ‘I have too many thoughts to put under one heading/subject, so how about I just write a letter?’ Yup! Since, I have not had a ‘wisdom nuggets’ post up in a while, this will make up for the gap. [I hope]

When my birthday draws closer, I become exceptionally reflective. I like to think that I reflect a lot [like everyday]; but it’s double the measure during the month of September to October. So I have been doing a lot of reflection lately, and I want to share some in this letter. This reflection cuts across my growth and what needs improvement. I hope they resonate with you….. WHAT SHE [THEY] SAID: Chastity for Men…

Hello Fam!

My unplanned absence [Forgive this girl, please *puppy face*] from the blog is over; and we are having a book review as I stated in the last blog post.

But before we get into the book, I want to pen down a few words about the ‘primary’ author of this book, Frances Okoro.

I cannot vividly remember how our paths crossed, what I do remember was the fact that I was just interested in another lady, who studied law and loves Jesus, and is not ashamed to let the world know. I dropped my 2 cents on her blog, and the rest…. [Frances will have to tell us]

Frances Okoro is a lover of Christ who is bestowed with a transforming gift of transparency, and she is not afraid to declare that the liberating and transforming power of God is real; and she is a living proof. Her gift of transparency, I call transforming; because you read her words of the works of Christ in her, and you are able to come to the realization that she has an intimacy with God. Apart from being a lady of inspiration, she is a jovial and fun-loving person, who loves travelling, adventure and never finds a reason to hide that smile. She is a passionate adherent of finding and fulfilling purpose, love through the eyes of God, purposeful relationships and being chaste. So it is no surprise that she worked hard, with the grace of God, to make this e-book available for the world to read, and be transformed. Continue reading

Help! I can’t hear Him speak…. (2)

Hello PT!

Here is Part 1

I have a confession: I really struggled to put up the last post, for so many reasons, but I will mention a few. I felt all over the place with my words, I kept telling myself: ‘I hope these words make sense’. Then, I was thinking; Is this post even necessary?

But, I put up the post, anyway. I am learning how to shut my raging emotions, especially when it’s not time to be logical- when it’s time to be obedient to God. So, cheers to shutting our thoughts/emotions up, and subjecting them to obeying the instructions of God.

We considered some factors that could prevent us from hearing from God, in the course of pondering on this ‘series’, I remembered another one… Continue reading

Help! I can’t hear Him speak…

Three weeks ago, I had an evening service at a place I had once visited, and as I got on the bus, I remembered: ‘I don’t know the bus stop to get off at’. Well, I was all over the place before leaving home, that I totally forgot that I needed to check for the bus stop, as the bus stop I was to get off has a different name from the street of the place.

So I asked HIM, and He said: ‘Get off at the fifth bus stop’.  We got to the fifth bus stop, but I hesitated, I looked around but it did not look like a place I had been to before, bear in mind, this was at 10pm, so it was dark. While I hesitated, the traffic light worked in my favor and it changed to red. I walked up to the driver and asked: “Is the opposite stop, Milvan Drive?”

He replied: ‘Yes!’

Then I got off. As I walked to the venue, He said: ‘So you really had to ask the driver first, before believing? And you had to look around to be sure that it looked like the place too?

Then it dawned on me, what had just happened and I asked for forgiveness.

That experience made me understand how there could be a million reasons why we may not be able to hear God speak; and from my lil’ experience with God, I believe I can be able to share a few reasons why we may not hear God when He speaks and what we can do better as we grow in Christ.
