Hello Fam!

It’s been a minute, but hopefully, t’is about to change.

As you may have thought/wondered- Yes! I am still adjusting to my new role amidst other factors, and I am figuring out a routine for blogging with the present change(s). I am getting there. Please be patient with me.

So how are you doing? I hope you are doing great, I genuinely want to know…

Whenever I meditate on the life of Christ, I believe today’s title: ‘Against all odds’ is a minute depiction of His life. In the sense that, life was not a bed of roses for Him. We read about His life and we are open to the expectations of the life we are to live on earth. This truth, we know; then why do we expect a life free of trials and challenges? Why do we seek comfort in the things that are not created to give us comfort on earth?

Where am I headed with this? Continue reading

YOU’VE GOT A LETTER: Waiting/Resting isn’t passivity

Source- Google! Source- Google!

Dearest PT,

It’s been a minute on here; I hope this letter meets you in sound mind. Lately, I have been burdened to write this letter to you. I feel when I make a post in the form of a letter; it gets personal; like I am pouring out my heart to you or reaching out to you.

I was pondering on something I posted on my Instagram page, here, particularly about rest, and I feel the need to follow-up on it as there’s room for misunderstanding the concept and actuality of rest (not the physical/natural rest). The summary of the posts is that ‘in resting, God performs His best work’. In as much as, that’s true, recently, I have felt that, that’s an incomplete message. I just put out a ‘skeleton argument’, and I hope this letter puts more flesh to the bony message.

The notion I may have passed on was that, resting was inactivity on a person’s part, while God worked. Well, that’s just part one of REST. The sequence to part one is that, you don’t play a passive role while you rest. I know that sounds contradictory, but you will understand better as you read on. Continue reading

WIGTW: Abstaining from Sex Until Marriage. Why?

WIGTW is the abbreviation for When I Got This Wrong

Since I started blogging, I think I have touched on the sex subject, only once. Find the post, here. Most of us [Christians], shy away from this topic. I believe that keeping silent about sex in the church is dangerous, and over flogging it, has its own disadvantages, as other branches or ties of sex are then swept under the carpet. However, I am no expert, but I am no novice either. Not having knowledge or having the wrong understanding leads to destruction. So, I am pro having moderate and accurate knowledge of sex as youths, and it’s better learned from home first and the church, in that order.

Where the church is silent, the world fills the vacuum.

But before we go further into today’s post, I will like to state a few things [mantras]: Continue reading

Hello!

I hope it’s not too late to say; ‘Happy New Month’. This post was supposed to be up a week ago, but I went silent. I just have some periods where I love to be silent on/away from social media/platforms, and that was what crept up on me, last week. However, something else was going on during my ‘silent period’. I was pumped up with pride. Pride? How? Continue reading

WHEN I GOT THIS WRONG: Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit

Yes, you are right!

We are starting a new segment on the blog today. I am certain this will be one segment that will help us appreciate how far we have come in our relationship with Christ, more like, an evaluation of our journey with the Holy Spirit, as He gives us understanding of the Word of God.

Also, this segment is open to all- Precious Thoughts’ readers can send in their ‘When I got this wrong’ stories to preciousthoughts2013@gmail.com. The aim of this segment is to help give accurate Godly understanding to certain biblical values and truth that we practice. It is not just okay to say ‘Don’t steal’; can we explain to a non-believer why we understand that stealing is a sin? Can we carry out the will of God knowing His mind or do we just do it nevertheless because it is in the bible?

This segment is aimed at propelling us to take the next step- understand the mind of God. If we cannot understand God, we cannot accurately represent Him and draw men to Him. I pray for continuous flow of insight from Christ, upon everyone that will be a part of this- both the readers and contributors. Amen.

Starting off today’s premiere of the new segment is when I got the meaning of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit wrong and the devil had a field day, as usual. I hope you laugh [maybe] and learn as you read this. Continue reading

Hello! Hello!!

As stated in the last post, we have three more chapters to discuss in this series. I hope you are reading along and gaining some unforgettable lessons as well.

I hope your week has started off on a high note. As for me, I am trying to get my blogging ‘mojo’ back, amidst other things I am involved with at the moment.

Today’s post will be focusing on chapter thirteen of the second book of Samuel. The lessons from this passage are ones that I hold very dearly to my heart. I hope that as usual that the Holy Spirit will minister these words to our hearts in a way that will cause for change and repentance. Amen! Continue reading
